Emergency Drivers for Fresh Food for Kids
We are putting together a list of volunteers to help deliver food baskets to children and youth in need. Currently, we are delivering to families in the Guelph area, but this may expand into Wellington County in the near future. Our goal is to deliver to up to 200 families per week.
We are screening volunteers for this job with the following criteria:
Volunteers must be under 70 years old;
Have no underlying medical issues;
Are not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms;
Must not be in quarantine;
Be able to work a 1-2 hour shift each day, Monday to Friday;
Have a vehicle, a validi driver's license, valid insurance, and a cell phone.
How does it work?
The number of volunteers needed will vary depending on the volume of requests we receive as we launch this new emergency program. When we are in need of a new driver, we will send an email containing all the instructions you will need to complete this job. When you are assigned a shift, you will be given a time slot. We are hoping most volunteers will be able to commit to the same time slot each day, Monday to Friday. It is very important that volunteers arrive on time for their shifts as we are rotating volunteer pick-ups so no two volunteers will come into contact with each other. If this system will be a problem for you, please let us know and we will try to accommodate your needs.
More detailed instructions will be provided prior to your first shift.
The health and safety of our staff, volunteers, and the community is our number one priority and we are taking extra precautions when packaging and delivering all Fresh Food for Kids supplies using recommended safety protocols.
