What is the Live Free campaign?
Every day, many children in our community live without basic necessities that many of us take for granted. Often these children arrive at school without the proper nutrition they need to help them focus in class. Put simply, they are too hungry to learn.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 1 in 3 children may experience food insecurity.1 Our Help Kids Live Free From Hunger "30 in 30" campaign, presented by Keyspire, will be working towards raising enough funds to provide 30,000 meals to local children and youth in 30 days, from February 2nd to March 4th.
Supporting Live Free
The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington invites you to be an advocate for children and youth in our community through our Help Kids Live Free From Hunger "30 in 30" campaign in support of the Food & Friends Program. Our goal is to work to meet the growing need in our community by raising enough funds to provide 30,000 meals to local children and youth in 30 days, from February 2nd - March 4th.
We have seen the need increase during the current pandemic. A healthy Food & Friends meal can cost an average of $3.40 compared to $1.85 a year ago. Many children and youth in our community live without the basic necessities that many of us take for granted. For some students, the food from our Food & Friends supported programs will be their only meal of the day.
But this can change and you can make a difference. By raising funds for the Food & Friends Program through the Live Free campaign, you can help provide a healthy start to the day for children and youth in our community who need it. 100% of the funds raised will help local kids Live Free From Hunger.
