No! This is a movement challenge, encouraging our community to get active and move our bodies, anyway at any time during the month of May, all while raising funds to help support the well-being of local children and youth. This means that you have the autonomy to complete 5K of movement however fits your lifestyle! Walk your dog every morning, bike your favourite trails, or take a weekend hike - whatever you choose, this challenge is about getting active, and supporting not only your own physical and mental health but also that of others.
Each registration includes a participant kit that contains:
- "5K Your Way" Buff
- Drawstring Backpack
- A "DIY" Finish Line
- 5K Guidebook (including information about how to complete your 5K, stats, and other info!)
- A Local Coupon Booklet for Dufferin, Wellington and Guelph
You can choose to pick up your participant kit at our new office (5068 Whitelaw Rd, Guelph ON) or have it shipped/delivered for a flat rate $10 fee.
*Please note: Group kits are currently only available for pick up. If you'd like to have your group kit shipped, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
No. This movement challenge is not your typical 5K, and therefore we aren't treating it like one! This means that you get a participant kit that is a little different than a runner kit, with items encouraging you to get outside, and to explore locally.
Creating a team with your friends, family and colleagues is easy:
- Choose your team name.
- Nominate a Team Captain.
- The Team Captain will register for the 5K Your Way and create the team during registration.
- The Team members can then register for the 5K Your Way individually and join the team by selecting the team name from the drop-down menu on the registration form.
When registering as a group, you can create your team and use that page as your overall fundraising page vs. having individual team members.

First of all congratulations on raising $150! Once you've raised $150 in donations, you qualify to participate for free!
You will receive an email later this summer with more information about how to get your refund for your registration fee.
Registration closes on Monday, May 16th.
All proceeds from participant registration and fundraising will support our Free to Grow Program which nurtures the physical, social, emotional, and mental well-being of children and youth by funding recreational and life-skill opportunities such as sports, arts, camps, driver's education training and leadership development as well as providing funding for mental health counseling for children and youth, referred to us from CMHA.
All donations of $20 or more will receive a tax receipt. If you have not received your tax receipt, please check your junk folder.
Please note: Registration fees are not eligible for a tax receipt.
