April 15, 2019
Program: Feed Your Mind Event
Date: Saturday May 4th, 2019
The Children’s Foundation is so fortunate to have the greatest volunteers of all time. They are all extremely kind, enthusiastic, and dedicated individuals who are committed to helping reach the most vulnerable people in our community. In honour of National Volunteer Week, the Children’s Foundation will be hosting a Feed Your Mind event for its amazing volunteers on Saturday, May 4 at the Ignatius Jesuit Centre. This free event will celebrate wellness and the impacts of volunteerism by providing volunteers with interactive learning opportunities geared towards professional growth. These enriching and informative sessions include:
Bridges out of Poverty: This session will educate volunteers on what it means to live in poverty. It will also focus on the social and economic impact that poverty has on families and the community.
Inclusion Matters: This session will help foster a sense of belonging within volunteer teams by focusing on the development of inclusive leadership skills.
Thrive in the Workplace: This training session will provide volunteers with wellness exercises and techniques, as well as effective coping strategies for dealing with stress and wellbeing.
These sessions, combined with door prizes, lunch, and an optional nature hike, mean that this free event will feed volunteers’ bodies with a delicious lunch, minds with enlightening information, and souls by celebrating the great work they are doing in the community!
