Adopt-A-Family has record-breaking year

Guelph Storm

There is a great sense of love and accomplishment felt by all who have taken part in the Adopt-A-Family Program this year. We have had a record-breaking year, supporting 1,109 families and reaching 2,385 children to date. These numbers will continue to grow as we receive emergency referals that right up until Christmas Day.

We have had 926 donors so far, including individuals, families and corporate groups. We have met many special people including an extraordinary 8 year old girl who signed up to adopt a family on her own, saving her money throughout the year to be able to go shopping for them. What an incredible little girl, exemplifying the true meaning of Christmas! A huge and heartfelt thanks to all of our donors who made a happy Christmas possible for so many families in need!

Another special group of donors are fighting poverty from the ice rink; click here to follow the Guelph Storm as they hit the streets to shop for their adopted family.

The Guelph Storm is also supporting the Children’s Foundation in a dedicated fundraising game at 2 pm on Saturday, December 17th, taking on the Kitchener Rangers at the Sleeman Centre. To get your tickets to the Highway-7 match-up, click here. Tickets can also be purchased by calling the Guelph Storm Box Office at 519-837-9690, or by visiting the Box Office on the second floor of Old Quebec Street Shoppes.
