Thank you for wanting to help local children and their families by hosting a Gift Drive for Adopt-A-Family. With all the changes the pandemic has brought about in our community, we have had to re-think how to continue providing the support kids and families need in new and safe ways. For Adopt-A-Family 2020, we will be moving primarily to a Gift Card model. Your help in collecting Gift Cards or collecting cash donations is invaluable in serving 1,300+ families in Guelph and Wellington.
Need Help Promoting Your Gift Card Drive?
When deciding to host a Gift Card Drive, you may want / need support promoting it. Here is a poster which can be used to help promote your fundrasier:
This year, we wanted to give you the chance to collect money online as a group for Adopt-A-Family. Cash donations can be pooled for us to purchase gift cards in bulk to help all families referred to the program.
You can track your group’s donations, while the money comes directly to us. If you go to the AAF GROUP DONATION PAGE, you can create your own fundraising page by clicking on the Create my own Fundraising Page button. A page asking for an email address and name should appear - you should use your group’s name and an email address that you have access to, as you will receive two emails.
One of the emails will have the subject line Personalize your Crowdfunding page - do not share link. If you click on the Personalize my Page button, you can edit your group’s page. You can add a picture, your own text and a goal amount. Once you are happy with your page, make sure you click the Save and Publish button, now the page should be ready to send out.
The other email you should receive from us should have the subject line Support my fundraising effort. This email can be used to share your page with your group; you can view your group’s page by clicking on the Donate to my Cause Button. When you are writing the email, you should be able to change the text in the email to suit your group’s needs. Any donations made to this page will be associated with your group, and the money will go directly to us.
