Tim Hortons

October, 2009 - Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign was a sweet success with over $32,000 being raised for the Food and Friends. Over 19,900 of the special chocolate chunk cookies were sold between September 21-27 at Tim Hortons locations in Guelph and the remainder of the cookies sold in County locations including Fergus, Elora and Mount Forest.

"I would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who helped to make this year’s campaign such an overwhelming success,” said Kevin and Tammy Copeman, Tim Hortons Store Owners. "Raising awareness for the Food and Friends through the Smile Cookie campaign opens the door to more community involvement and ensures that the funds raised in our community stays in our community. I think that’s something we can all smile about!”

Each "Smile Cookie” sold for $1 (tax excluded) with the proceeds going towards Food and Friends.

Food and Friends would like to thank Tim Hortons for this tremendous support.

Tim Hortons started supporting the Food and Friends Program in 2001 with their Smile Cookie Campaign. All of the stores in Guelph, Elora, Fergus and Mount Forest serve Smile Cookies – delicious chocolate chunk cookies topped off with a smiley face - for one week in the fall. Since 2001, they have raised over $190,000 including this year’s record sales which raised over $39,000. On top of the monetary support, the recognition that the campaign brings to Food and Friends is priceless including radio ads and videos displayed at the drive thru that mention Food and Friends.

At the 2010 Around the World Gala, Tim Hortons was recognized as a Benefactor of the Foundation for having donated over $100,000 to support the Food and Friends program.
