Sept. 18, 2009 It's Smile Cookie Time!

The special Tim Horton smiling chocolate chunk cookies will be on sale next week from Monday September 21st until Sunday September 27th. All proceeds from the cookie sales will go towards the Food and Friends student nutrition programs. The Smile Cookies will be on sale for $1 (tax excluded) at stores in Elora, Fergus, Mount Forest, Arthur, Harriston and Guelph.

Tim Hortons has been supporting local communities through the “Smile Cookie” program since 1996. The “Smile Cookie” program originally began in Hamilton, Ontario to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital. Since then, it has expanded across Canada helping a variety of children’s charities, hospitals and community programs.

“We are so grateful that our local Tim Hortons have chosen Food and Friends to be the recipient of the proceeds from their Smile Cookie campaign,” says Anita Macfarlane, Community Program Coordinator for Food and Friends "Tim Hortons has recognized the need for student nourishment programs and have supported our efforts through the Smile Cookie Campaign to ensure that all students in our community go to school hungering for knowledge not for food.”
