Dec. 11, 2009 Last Minute Adopt-A-Family Needs
One week remains in the Adopt-A-Family program and we have had a tremendous response from the community. At this time 579 families have been referred to the program.
We are seeking some exceptional donors to help us meet the needs of our last minute referrals. The highest need is for gifts for teens. We receive a lot of general donations that help us with younger children and often it's the teens that get forgotten. Items that would be most useful include Stone Road Mall Gift Certificates, Zellers Gift Certificates, HMV Gift Certificates, Bus Passes, Fast Food Gift Certificates and Movie Passes.
We could also use donations of new books for children up to the age of 8 and craft items.
We are asking residents who are out shopping this weekend to pick up some of the above extra items and drop them off at our Adopt-A-Family site on Monday between the hours of 9 and 5. We are located at 80 Waterloo Ave.
