May 15, 2008 - SOAR Media Challenge...
The Southern Ontario Amazing Race (SOAR) kicked-off it 5th year activities with a Media Challenge event held in downtown Guelph at St. George’s Square. Four teams of two raced through 3 challenges which tested their team work and mental skills. Team Guelph Mercury finished first with Team Children’s Foundation, Team SNAP Guelph and Team U of G Alumni came in 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
SOAR is a yearly event patterned on the TV show The Amazing race. Twenty team of two racers gather together the first weekend of June to compete against each other in various mental and physical events. In its first four years SOAR has raised over $120,000 to help the Children’s Foundation fund children throughout Guelph and Wellington County.
