March 7- Taking the Lead
The Children’s Foundation has taken the lead in helping to provide funding for children who’s families cannot afford sports, camp and other recreational activities. As noted in The Guelph Mercury (March 5, 2008), a gap in funding has been identified by community agencies since the organization Kids Can Play stopped operating. The Children’s Foundation has extended its funding to incorporate those children and activities funded by that group.
A special committee has been created to review the needs of the community and the children in need of funds. Until that committee reports back to the community, The Children’s Foundation will be the organization that children and their parents can turn to for help.
