Southern Ontario Amazing Race surpasses expectations with over $62,000 raised in support of The Children’s Foundation
The Sourthern Ontario Amazing Race (SOAR) held each year in and around
Guelph celebrated its 5th year with a new champion and a new record
total of dollars raised to support the work of The Children’s
Foundation of Guelph and Wellington. Held each year on the first
weekend of June, SOAR is based on the popular television show The
Amazing Race.
Twenty teams of two racers face challenges througout the two day events
the compete to be first to the finish line. Each year, racers raise
funds to support The Children’s Foundation. The participants lived up
to the SOAR motto to dig deep and aim high by bringing in over $62,000
in pledges for The Children's Foundation of Guelph and Wellington.
Great competition and an amazing total for The Children's Foundation -
once again SOAR was a true success. In total, SOAR has raised over
$180,000 over its 5 year history.
This year’s winners were John and Renée Fleming who finished 22 minutes
