About Us

"The Children’s Foundation of Guelph & Wellington is dedicated to providing enrichment opportunities to underprivileged children in our community by funding their participation in a wide variety of educational and recreational programs.”

Summer camp program funding, recreational enrichment program funding, support for individuals going on to college or university, that is what the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington provides to children of our community. Family & Children’s Services of Guelph and Wellington (F&CS) established the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington in 1991 to create a source of funding to help children in need within the community. Since that time, the Children’s Foundation has supported children across Guelph and Wellington by providing funding for them to access life enrichment programs in which they otherwise could not participate.

At the Children’s Foundation we believe that every child deserves a bright future. Unfortunately, some children live in family situations that don’t allow them to take part in school and after school activities that many of us take for granted. With funding available to children so they can access recreational enrichment programs, the Foundation’s mission is to ensure that any child that needs help will receive help. The situation today is that our resources do not match the need of the community. We are currently helping hundreds of children in Guelph and Wellington County. We could be helping thousands.

Originally started as a way to provide funding for important programs for children not-in-care identified by the Family and Children’s Services of Guelph and Wellington, the Foundation reach is currently broader and includes a number of agencies within Guelph and Wellington assisting families and children in need. Regardless of which agency a child or family is referred by, the Children’s Foundation does its best to meet the child’s need. A volunteer Board of Directors governs the Foundation. This Board directs activities, takes part in fundraising initiatives and oversees the distribution of funds to individuals and families.
